Golf Tournament
Our final was held on Tuesday 20th October at Hintlesham Golf Club, the weather was breezy and a bit chilly compared to the other rounds, ending a little damp as the drizzle came down on the last few holes.
Unfortunately, not everyone from the top six could make the final, but a few willing players next in line on the table stepped up for the challenge.
There was some fantastic golfing prowess as well as some carefully considered putting thanks to the Golden Putt’s.
As a little twist for the final, three Golden Putts were offered to each player, if their ball was more than a putter club length away from the hole, they could choose to use one. In doing so, if they put out, they gained an extra 2 points to their score however should they miss then they lost 2 points off their score. Alternatively, they could hold on to them and cash in unused Golden Putts for a point each at the end. So this gave a potential +6 to -6 to any players score.
Anyway, on to the results:
A very close finish with first second and third only a point different, even after adding the Golden Putt adjustments on there was a tie for first place, so it came down to count-back and point a single point, Tom Bryce won the day with a total of 41, much to the annoyance of Lewis Maskell – especially as he will have to put up with Tom’s bragging rights for the next year!
As the 2026 season comes to an end, we would just like to say a massive thank you to all that have attended and helped to make this the success it has been.
Here’s to next season, keep an eye out for those invites in the New Year.
