PRACTICE PROFILE
Introduction
Johns Slater and Haward has operated in the building services field since the mid 1960’s and architecturally can trace its roots back well over one hundred years. The Firm operates from offices in Ipswich and since February 1994 has focused on Mechanical and Electrical Consultancy. In May 2004, the Practice incorporated and is now run by the three Directors. In addition to the necessary Administrative support staff, Technical staff are employed to meet the Practice’s requirements.Practice Capabilities |

The Practice specialises in the full design and co-ordination of Mechanical and Electrical Services, supported by the monitoring of installation and commissioning. The service can be quite limited with the input tailored to meet the specific needs of a Client or Project. Drawings are generally produced via CAD.
The Practice has invested heavily in the last few years in IT to ensure that maximum use is made of current technology. The Practice subscribes to various technical support systems including Barbour Construction Expert, the National Engineering Specification and Croner’s Management of Construction Safety.
Extensive expertise in the field of energy conservation is also available and JSH is able to utilise its wide range of experience together with traditional and dynamic computer based design to evaluate situations and provide a rapid response.
Expert advice is also available on the maintenance of Building Services including the procedures and means of obtaining maintenance contracts.
JSH have direct experience of many of the different roles within the various building procurement routes including Project Manager, Client’s Consultant, Main Contractor’s Consultant, in addition to acting as a specialist designer to Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Sub Contractors. The Practice also is able to undertake the role of Planning Supervisor under the CDM Regulations.

Practice Statement
Each Project is assigned a Director who is personally responsible for the delivery of that Project. The analysis of Clients needs and the achievement of cost and time targets are considered of paramount importance.
