Firstan Ltd are involved with the manufacturing of carton-board packaging for the pharmaceuticals industry.

The site at Bar Hill, Cambridge covers 6 factory type units. These vary in uses from warehousing to manufacturing and storage and distribution. The units were constructed in the 1960s and some have benefited from internal cladding in the 1980’s. All the units were 6metres high and some have mezzanine level office accommodation. The overall floor area of the 6 units, including mezzanine office floor space was approximately 5,200m2.

In March 2008 JSH Energy Solutions conducted an Initial Opportunities Assessment and identified 8No no cost/low cost Recommendations of energy saving opportunities with payback periods of up to a maximum of 5 years, for the Company to implement in order to save both carbon dioxide emissions and money. If all the Recommendations were implemented, savings of approximately 27% would be achieved.
