Snape Maltings - Concert Hall and Residences
![]() |
The Snape Maltings in Suffolk was originally an old industrial complex constructed in the mid 1900’s. A number of the redundant buildings have been re-developed to provide retail space, a concert hall and residential accommodation. A new boiler provides a source of heat for space heating and domestic hot water generation to all of the new retail and residential buildings on the site, together with ten further buildings that were due for development. The principal fuel is chipped wood of C50 grade. At the time, it was the largest Biomass installation in East Anglia to date. As many of the buildings were listed and within a conservation area, a below ground wood chip bunker was constructedto serve the installation. |
