Willis Group, Ipswich
![]() |
The Willis building is an iconic building situated in the centre of Ipswich. The building was designed by Sir Norman Foster and constructed over 30 years ago. The original services installation had several elements in need of replacement after 30 years service. Namely the generator and main switch panels, which were to form Phase 1 of the switchgear upgrade. A budget was set for the implementation of Phase 1 and Johns Slater and Haward were awarded the contract of designing and overseeing the installation of the Electrical Services work. The work was carried out in 6 phases and in sequence to minimise disruption to the operation of the building. Phase 2 of the switchgear replacement involved upgrading the rising busbar and sub-panel installations. |
